Dataflow Error "invalid character '<' looking for beginning of value" in Wave Analytics
|Knowledge Article Number||000239594|
|Description||Wave Analytics Users all have a Private App where they can store personal datasets, lenses, and dashboards. If a User is deactivated within Salesforce, the contents of their Private App remain intact but cannot be accessed.
If the Dataflow attempts to sfdcRegister a dataset that resides in an inactive User's Private App, the dataflow will error with the following message:
Error executing node sfdcRegister_Node: invalid character '<' looking for beginning of value
|Resolution||To resolve this error, follow these steps:
1. Reactivate the inactive user.
2. Log in as the target user and access their Private App within Wave Analytics.
3. Move any datasets to another App (Shared App is recommended).
4. Deactivate the target user.
Once moved, the dataflow can be run and will be able to write to the target dataset. You can also delete the dataset if needed (you will need to remove the related nodes from the dataflow before deleting the dataset).
