Lookup fields blank in Salesforce1 / LEX

Description Why are my Lookup fields blank in Salesforce1 or Lightning Experience, but show data correctly in Classic UI? 
Resolution In Salesforce1 and Lightning Experience, Lookup field values may show as blank if the user viewing the record does not have access to the record that the Lookup field references.  These same fields may have a value associated to them in Classic UI, but will not display in Salesforce1 or Lightning Experience.  This is due to differences in the how data is pulled via the API.
