Salesforce for Outlook installer fails on Windows 10 version 1607 (anniversary build) machines, the Salesforce for Outlook plug-in fails install and installed versions won't run
The installer prompts the user that prerequisites are needed forces the user to install .NET Framework 4.5.2 even though both .NET 3.5 and 4.6.2 are installed as part of Windows 10 operating system.

|Resolution||Our R&D team is working on a fix and we should have a working version available to download shortly, in the mean time choose one of the options below to install SFO successfully

Uninstall the anniversary update and roll back to the latest version of Windows 10 that was installed on your machine

2- Use either Mozilla Firefox or your Chrome browser (since IE may block the file and delete it afdter yo download it) to download and install the MSI file that matches your Outlook bitness from one of the links below. These MSI files have been modified and a launch condition to address this issue has been added. These are the SFO version 3.1.2 exactly with the addition of the (NDP = "#394802") in the Launch Condition section to check the version of .NET installed on your machine for the installer to finish the installation process successfully.
If you get a prompt that says "Windows Protected your PC" after you double click on the MSI, click on the "More info" and then click on Run anyway
** you may also need to Unblock the file after you download it. Simply locate the file, right click on it and click on Properties. On the General tab, at the bottom check the box for Unblock and click on OK and then run it to start the installation
