Password Expiration Date doesn't match User Account Creation Date

Description


If some User "Password Expiration Date" values don't fall on the same calendar date as the User's "Created Date" in a User Report, it's due to one of the following scenarios:

Example User Scenarios


No "Last Login" Date and "Password Expiration" Date is offset by one calendar day

Scenario 1:
  • User record created with "Generate new password and notify user immediately" option checked.
  • Profile has "Password Never Expires" disabled.
  • Password was generated but User never logged in.

Scenario 2:

  • User record created with "Generate new password and notify user immediately" option unchecked.
  • Profile has "Password Never Expires" disabled.
  • Password was generated through the "Reset Password" Button but User never logged in.


Note: Password Expiration Date will have the correct value after a successful log in.

 

No "Last Login" Date and No "Password Expiration" Date

  • User record was created with "Generate new password and notify user immediately" option unchecked.
  • Profile has "Password Never Expires" disabled.
  • User never logged in.


Note: Password Expiration Date will have the correct value after a successful​ log in.

 

"Last Login" Date Exists and "Password Expiration" Date is offset by 90 days

  • User record was created with "Generate new password and notify user immediately" option checked or the password was generated through the Reset Password Button.
  • Profile has "Password Never Expires" disabled.
  • The "User Password Expire In" is set to "90 days" under Security Controls | Password Policies.
  • User logged in successfully.
