Delete a Branch or Step in a Account Engagement Engagement Studio Program

Publish Date: Sep 30, 2025
Description
If you need to delete an entire branch of your program because it is not relevant to you anymore, the steps to follow will be slightly different than if you were removing only one step or a single "END" node.
Resolution

How to delete a single node in your program?

1- Open the program in Account Engagement:
A) In pi.pardot.com, go to Marketing on the left navigation bar and select Engagement Studio.
B) In Account Engagement Lightning App, go to Automations > Engagement Studio, and select the Engagement Studio program.
2- If the program is running, pause it with the button on the top right.
3- Go to the "Build" tab.
4- Select the step you want to remove.
5- Click on the delete button and confirm.
If you try to delete an "END" node an extra step will be required, you need to choose a new location in the program. where to place the prospects that are stored on this "END" node, once Account Engagement removes the step.
6- Yellow circles indicate the possible choices on the program.
7- Select a circle and validate.

How does it work if you delete an entire branch?

1- Open the program in Account Engagement:
A) In pi.pardot.com, go to Marketing on the left navigation bar and select Engagement Studio.
B) In Account Engagement Lightning App, go to Automations > Engagement Studio, and select the Engagement Studio program.
2- If the program is running, pause it with the button on the top right.
3- Go to the "Build" tab.
4- Select the rules or trigger you want to delete.
5- Click on the delete button.
6- Choose which path you want to delete (left, right or both).

Account Engagement will automatically place the prospects on the other side of the rule or trigger.

For example:
If you delete a left branch, the prospects automatically go to the top of the right branch. There will be no option to be selected and vice versa; deleting a right branch will push prospects to the top of the left part of the last rule.

Please note that the reporting tooltip showing the amount of prospect will not be updated. This statistic is not recalculated for each version of the program.
