Exchange Cached Mode enables a better experience when you use an Exchange account in Microsoft Outlook. In this mode, a copy of your mailbox is saved on your computer as a .ost file, allowing you to access your downloaded mailbox data even when offline. Once online, Outlook syncs with your mail server.
If you are unable to turn on Cached Exchange Mode, one or more of the following may apply:
Check the bottom right corner of your Outlook window:

Note for Salesforce Outlook Integration users: If you are using the Salesforce Outlook Integration, make sure to exit the app from the System tray to stop the sync process until the Outlook data file is completely downloaded to your machine. You will see "All Folders are up to date" at the bottom center of the Outlook screen once the download is complete.
