Request Access to Omnistudio Server-Side Document Generation

Publish Date: Aug 27, 2026
Description
Issue
You have a Salesforce Order Form subscription for a service that includes Document Generation, and you want to use Omnistudio Server-Side Document Generation.
Symptoms
  • Server-side document generation options are unavailable, or the IsServerSideDocGenEnabled setting cannot be turned on and made effective.
  • Document generation appears to run client-side only, or you cannot locate the server-side capability described in your entitlement.
Root Cause
Server-side document generation is a gated capability. Access is subject to usage limitations and requires the customer to accept additional terms before Salesforce enables it. Because activation depends on the account's entitlement and acceptance of those terms, the feature is not available by default for these organizations and cannot be self-enabled — Salesforce Support reviews the account and approves the request first. The IsServerSideDocGenEnabled setting is set to true after that approval.
Resolution
Complete these steps in order. Steps 1–2 request access; Step 4 enables the feature after Support approves.
Step 1 — Log a Support case for feature activation
  1. Open the Salesforce Help portal and Create a new Case.
  2. Set the case options:
    • Product: Industries
    • Topic: Security & Activations
    • Issue: Server-Side Document Generation
  3. In the Case Description, clearly state that you are requesting server-side document generation access, and confirm that the Org ID shown on the case matches the production organization where the feature is needed.
  4. Submit the case.
Step 2 — Review and accept any additional terms
  1. Wait for Salesforce Support to review and process the request.
  2. If Support sends additional documentation (for example, updated terms of service), review it and accept the terms. Activation cannot proceed until any required terms are accepted.
Step 3 — Confirm activation approval
  1. Confirm with Support that access has been approved and the feature is activated for your Org ID before continuing.
Step 4 — Enable the server-side document generation setting
  1. Set IsServerSideDocGenEnabled to true. This setting controls whether document generation processing occurs on Salesforce servers rather than client-side. (Ref: https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.doc_gen_enable_server_side_docgen_setting_omnistudio_pkg.htm&type=5)
Step 5 — Verify
  1. Generate a document and confirm that processing occurs server-side as expected. If the setting is unavailable or does not take effect, re-confirm with Support that activation completed for the correct Org ID.
