Controlling the Preview Image on Account Engagement Social Posts

Publish Date: Jun 24, 2024
Description
The preview of the social post is controlled by the social site. Each site (Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, etc.) may use a different method to generate a preview image from the shared URL, which can cause mixed results.
Resolution
Currently there is no such setting available in Account Engagement to achieve this directly. However, as a workaround, your developers can implement with Open Graph Tags to tell the social site which data to draw from the article (title, image, etc.). Follow Facebook and LinkedIn’s developer resource to implement open graph tags into your landing pages or Wordpress articles.

Note: Open Graph meta tags are snippets of code that control how URLs are displayed when shared on Social Media.

Example:

<head>
<meta property="og:title" content="My Shared Article Title" />
<meta property="og:description" content="Description of shared article" />
<meta property="og:url" content="http://example.com/my_article.html" />
<meta property="og:image" content="http://example.com/image.jpg" />
</head>
