Mass Update Lead fields on converted Leads

This article explains how to mass-update fields on Leads that have already been converted, using Data Loader.

Permission Required: View and Edit Converted Leads

Prepare Your Update File

1. Follow the instructions to Export Data, or Create a Report to View Converted Leads and Export a Report.
2. In your export, include the existing Lead IDs and the fields you want to update.
3. Update the values in your .csv file.
4. Review Insert, Update, or Delete Data Using Data Loader for guidance on updating the Lead object.

Notes and Limitations

• The following Lead fields cannot be updated: ConvertedDate, ConvertedAccountId, ConvertedContactId, and ConvertedOpportunityId.
• When updating via the API and Data Loader, set the batch size to 1, as outlined in Configure Data Loader.
• 'Set Audit Fields upon Record Creation' and 'Update Records with Inactive Owners' do not give access to converted Leads.
