How to set up your Admin Assist Courtesy User licenses.

Requirements: Must be a Designated Contact with a Premier Plus Success Plan.

What are Courtesy User licenses and why are they provided?

Courtesy User licenses are reserved for the Admin Assist team to use when working on your case. Rather than logging in as you, the Admin Assist team will login in using these two Courtesy user licenses. These 2 licenses are provided free of charge as part of your Admin Assist plan. The Courtesy Users can be easily identified by name (sfdcadmin1 and sfdcadmin2) and are secure and traceable. Only the Salesforce Admin Assist team will use the Courtesy Users.
 

How to set up your Courtesy User licenses
 

1. Click the gear icon --> Setup --> Users --> Users in the Lightning Experience UI.
2. Click New User
3. Enter the user's information as indicated below. Everything unspecified can be left as default.

 

ADMIN USER #1 

First Name: sfdc
Last Name: admin1
Alias: sfdc1
Email:
      for AMER or EMEA customers: rlittlejohn@salesforce.com 
      for APAC customers:  pchiliveri@salesforce.com
      for JAPAN customers:  aohno@salesforce.com

   
Username: sfdcadmin1@yourdomainname.com (domain name = your company's unique email address suffix after the @ symbol) 
Role: Leave blank
License Type: Salesforce
Profile: System Administrator 

ADMIN USER #2 

First Name: sfdc
Last Name: admin2
Alias: sfdc2
Email:
      for AMER or EMEA customers: bgill@salesforce.com
      for APAC customers:  pchiliveri@salesforce.com
      for JAPAN customers:  makato.eto@salesforce.com
Username: sfdcadmin2@yourdomainname.com
Role:  Leave blank
License Type: Salesforce
Profile: System Administrator 

Note on license type selection: If you are unable to select Salesforce as the user license, it means that the courtesy user license is being incorrectly used by one of your internal users. In this case, you will need to either free up 2 licenses by deactivating users, or purchasing additional licenses.

Note on Sandboxes: If the Courtesy User licenses were not provisioned on the Production Org before a Sandbox refresh, they will not be copied over to the Sandbox(es). In this case, you can either use this article to copy over the 2 users, or deactivate 2 internal users until your next Sandbox refresh. 

Note on IP Ranges: if IP ranges are in place (Org-Wide and/or Profile IP ranges), please add the salesforce IP Ranges so our Admin Assist team can login. 

Having issues setting up the courtesy licenses? Log a case.

1. Login to Salesforce, in the top right, click the "?" (Help & Training) icon | Get Support
2. Click Contact Support 
3. Click Create a Case
4. Subject Setup Courtesy User License
5. Product Admin Assist
5. Topic Setup or Customization
6. Fill in any other required fields and click Create Case


Once your case is open, we will work with you to set up your 2 Courtesy Users.
