These instructions are for IT workers or advanced users who know how to view and edit the registry. If for any reason your SFO uninstallation or installation fails, you can use this article to manually clean up your machine and remove all the registry entries, files, and folders from your computer.

 

Full Uninstall and Manual Clean Up for Salesforce for Outlook

PLEASE DO NOT PERFORM THESE STEPS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING

Note*
Depending on your installation type (Per Machine or Per User) some keys may or may not exist

 

Notes**

- [HKLM | HKCU]: HKEY_Local_Machine | HKEY_Current_User hive in the registry

- [WOW6432Node] means to find the keys at the folder without or alternatively in the WOW6432Node folder for when 32bit office is installed on a 64-bit machine

- %APPDATA% is a special environment variable for the application data directory.
The value of %AppData% is C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming

- <username> : the username who is logged in to the machine and installed SFO

- %LOCALAPPDATA% is another environment variable that refers to location of temporary files of applications
The value of %LocalAppData% is C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local

1- Uninstall Salesforce For Outlook from Windows Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features:


Select Salesforce For Outlook and click on Uninstall

Or you can run the uninstall from the Command Prompt for 32 or 64bit installer manually

64bit :     msiexec /uninstall SalesforceForOutlook_x64.msi
or 
32bit :     msiexec /uninstall SalesforceForOutlook.msi


2- Open the Registry Editor and get the package code from:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\UpgradeCodes\D0ADED3E72A08C94A884F94BF6BDD963]

Note**
This key would exist only if you install SFO using the ME ONLY options (Per user) or only for SFO version 2.5-2.7 that only get installer for the user

3- Remove Installer Keys:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Salesforce for Outlook Side Panel]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\UpgradeCodes\D0ADED3E72A08C94A884F94BF6BDD963]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\Products\{PACKAGE CODE FROM STEP 2}]

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Features\438EE6D63770A404C9E85F5C4F7B4360
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Features\ADA6E6116A3152749B478E9015E32E33


Example for SFO 3.3.0 the product key would look like this key
         [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\Products\ADA6E6116A3152749B478E9015E32E33]

or for SFO 2.7

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\Products\E06DEC2F22E20884D812A3EAB1D06EDC]



4- Remove Salesforce For Outlook Keys:

[HKLM | HKCU]\[Wow6432Node]\Software\salesforce.com\Salesforce for Outlook
 

5- Remove Addin Registry Keys:

[HKLM | HKCU]\[Wow6432Node]\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\SalesforceForOutlook
[HKLM | HKCU]\[Wow6432Node]\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\AddinSidePanel.AddinModule
[HKLM | HKCU]\[Wow6432Node]\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\ADXForm

Also depending on the way you install the application (Per machine vs Per user) as well as the bitness of your Windows and Office the Add-ins may be in different areas, HKLM, HKCU, Wow6432Node

[HKLM | HKCU]\[Wow6432Node]\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\SfdcRdm.Addin
 

6- Remove specific Outlook version Registry Keys: Replace XX.0 with outlook version
 

Outlook 2007 ---> 12.0
Outlook 2010 ---> 14.0
Outlook 2013 ---> 15.0
Outlook 2016 ---> 16.0
 

[HKLM|HKCU]\[Wow6432Node]\Software\Microsoft\Office\[XX.0]\Outlook\Addins\SalesforceForOutlook
[HKLM|HKCU]\[Wow6432Node]\Software\Microsoft\Office\[XX.0]\Outlook\Addins\AddinSidePanel.AddinModule

7- Remove the Redemption Keys:

[HKLM | HKCU]\[WOW6432Node]\Software\Redemption


8- Optionally Remove IE Emulation Keys:

[HKLM | HKCU]\[WOW6432Node]\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION\OUTLOOK.EXE

Example:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION

** You also NEED to  search and delete any of the following keywords and their associated subkeys

- Salesforce for outlook
- SalesforceForOutlook  (Check the "Match whole string only" option when you search for this keyword)
- adxloader
- Sfdcmsol
- Sfdcrdm
 

9- Remove Local Settings Folders Per User:

-  %APPDATA%\salesforce.com\Salesforce for Outlook\
(C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\salesforce.com\Salesforce for Outlook\ )

10- Remove Executable Folders Per User (installed with the ME ONLY option):

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\salesforce.com\Salesforce for Outlook\
(C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Programs\salesforce.com\Salesforce for Outlook\


11- Remove Executable Folders Per Machine (installed with the EVERYONE WHO LOGS IN TO THE COMPUTER option):

C:\Program Files\salesforce.com\Salesforce for Outlook\
C:\Program Files (x86)\salesforce.com\Salesforce for Outlook\

12- Remove Outlook User Properties on Mail, Contacts, Events, and Tasks

A- Install Outlook Spy from http://www.dimastr.com/outspy/home.htm OR a similar app or script that allows you to edit user properties on Outlook Items
B- For Mail, Contacts, Events, and Tasks Items, remove “SfdcRecordId”, “SfdcRecordIds”, “SfdcUserId”
C- For just Mail Items, remove “SaleforceTaskId”, “SalesforceAssociationIds”, and “SalesforceAssociationError”

These prerequisites may already be present or may be installed based on client’s machine. The files with url’s are downloaded during installation time and the ones without are included in our installer binaries. Please see this knowledge article for more information

Office 2007 PIAs: o2007pia.msi / Office 2010 PIAs: o2010pia.msi  (Depending on the Outlook version you have installed. Either Outlook 2007 or 2010
