What changed?
Salesforce retired Chatter Desktop on June 10, 2018. After that date, Chatter Desktop is no longer supported by Salesforce, and you are no longer able to use this feature. Chatter service requires a browser, and all existing users of Chatter Desktop for Mac and Windows are no longer able to use Chatter Desktop.
What was Chatter Desktop?
Chatter Desktop is a free desktop application that lets you collaborate in Chatter without a browser. Chatter Desktop is used to post comments in Chatter and receive updates about your groups and the people, records, and files you follow.
Why did we retire this feature?
Chatter Desktop is built on a third-party platform that is no longer supported.
We understand that this retirement may cause some disruption for customers using Chatter Desktop, but Chatter functionality is still available within your browser.
If you have more questions, open a case with support via Salesforce Help or contact your Salesforce account team. To view all current and past retirements, see Salesforce Product & Feature Retirements.
