Convert Leads without Opportunities Created as the Default Option

This article explains the two Lead Settings options that let you skip Opportunity creation by default when converting a Lead.

Prior to the Spring '18 release, it wasn't possible to select an option to skip the creation of Opportunities as a default when converting a Lead. Since the Spring '18 update, there are two options when converting a Lead:

• Hide Opportunity Section of Convert Lead Window
• Select Don't create an opportunity upon conversion by Default in Convert Lead Window

In Lightning Experience

1. Click the gear icon
2. Click Setup
3. Enter Lead Settings on the Quick Find box on your left
4. Click Lead Settings
5. Click Edit
6. Select Don't create an opportunity by Default in Convert Lead Window and Hide Opportunity Section of Convert Lead Window
7. Click Save

In Salesforce Classic

1. Click Setup
2. Enter Lead Settings on the Quick Find box on your left
3. Click Lead Settings
4. Click Edit
5. Select Don't create an opportunity by Default in Convert Lead Window and Hide Opportunity Section of Convert Lead Window
6. Click Save
