Use Custom List Detective to restrict sending to addresses or domains in Marketing Cloud

게시 일자: Apr 18, 2025
상세 설명

Overview

Custom List Detective (CLD) displays entries that add to or override the behavior of the default List Detective list.

Marketing Cloud admins can add new 'deny' entries through its user interface, as well as view 'allow' overrides added with the assistance of Salesforce staff.

Considerations

Access

  • Enable CLD with a support request.
  • Access CLD via Email Studio > Admin from the Enterprise 2.0 parent account.
  • CLD is automatically enabled when support fulfills requests for custom 'allow' overrides.

Usage

  • CLD entries are applied at the enterprise level -- all business units see the same CLD list.
  • Entries should include the username or hostname only -- do not include the 'at' (@) symbol.
  • CLD allows admins to add new 'deny' entries based on either username or domain masks. To add an 'allow' override that makes it possible to send to addresses that would have otherwise been excluded by List Detective, create a support request.
  • Insertion of CLD 'deny' entries will set subscribers with matching addresses to 'Unsubscribed'. Removal of CLD entries will not revert subscriber statuses previously modified by List Detective as a result of those entries.

Committing Changes

To confirm that List Detective is working, add a matching email address to the All Subscribers list. If the CLD entry is working correctly, the address will be allowed or rejected based on whether the pattern is configured to allow or deny.

List Detective changes are applied to new send jobs only. Persistent sends like triggered sends and Journey Builder sends must be republished to commit changes to List Detective.
