This article explains how to request a temporary increase to the Daily Mass Email limit. This limit controls the maximum number of mass emails a Salesforce org can send per day. This is considered a high-risk limit by Salesforce and requests are subject to extreme scrutiny. 

This limit may be encountered for customers needing to send Mass Emails beyond their current daily allowance for a short-term business need.

Available Editions:

Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer

Limit Details

Default Limit:

  • 1,000 emails per day (Professional)
  • 5,000 emails per day (Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited)

Increase Duration:

Temporary only — permanent Mass Email Limitincreases are rarely approved

How to Increase:

Salesforce Support

Scope:

Production orgs only — this limit will not be raised for Sandbox orgs under any circumstances

Prerequisites:

  • Important: This limit will not be raised for Marketing purposes (e.g. new product or service notifications). Mass Email is intended for transactional or operational use cases only. Customers with Marketing needs should be directed to Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Submitting an Increase Request

If you've reviewed all relevant documentation and confirmed your use case qualifies, please have your System Administrator create a Limit Increase Request with Support and include the details of your request. 

When submitting your case, please include:

  • The business reason for the increase

  • The volume and duration of the increase needed

  • Confirmation that this is not for Marketing purposes

Salesforce Support will review all requests carefully. Due to the high-risk nature of this limit, approval is not guaranteed and permanent increases are rarely granted.
