Delete button not available on Events and Event series from Lightning Sync

Users may notice an event or event series that was synced via Lightning Sync by Gmail or Microsoft Outlook is missing the Delete action on the record's page layout however, when the event is created in Salesforce the Delete button or action is available.

This is known to occur if the Event page layout does not have the "Delete Series" and "Delete All Following" quick actions applied to it.

Ratkaisu

Add the actions to desired event page layouts:


In Salesforce Classic

  1. Click Setup.
  2. On the Quick Find box, enter Event.
  3. Click Edit on the page layout for the Event object you want to update.
  4. Drag the quick action Delete Series and Delete All Following from the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section of the page layout.
  5. Click Save.


In Lightning Experience

  1. Click Setup.
  2. On the Object Manager, enter Event.
  3. View the page layout for the Event object you want to update.
  4. Drag the quick action Delete Series and Delete All Following from the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section of the page layout.
  5. Click Save.

Scenario:
For example, a sales rep syncs their Outlook calendar with Salesforce via Lightning Sync. When they try to delete an event series from Salesforce, the Delete button is missing from the record.

Note: Lightning Sync has been superseded by Einstein Activity Capture (EAC). If you are using EAC, refer to the EAC documentation for event deletion behavior.
