FAQ: Salesforce Mobile App Page Loads

Veröffentlichungsdatum: Oct 13, 2022
Beschreibung
When Salesforce for Android and iOS loads pages, you may see unexpected content or behavior.

A good way to see if it’s Working As Designed, is to test in another environment.
  • The test environment should use only Out Of Box settings and the simplest configurations, if possible.
  • The test device should use strong Wifi, on the newest supported OS listed on Requirements for the Salesforce Mobile App.
However, some behaviors may be difficult to understand even with comparison tests.

Here are some specific examples of how the mobile app is commonly used, and the expected behavior for page loads.

When you see different behavior, please try troubleshooting with the linked resources.

FAQ: After I save, what page should show up?

  • Typically the app shows the page that was used just before the edit screen or creation screen.
  • For example: Views an Account detail and tap “New Contact” action button. On the Contact creation screen, tap Save. The App shows the Account detail.
  • If the Landing Page shows up instead, a Salesforce System Administrator should checkmark the ‘Enable caching in Salesforce for Android and iOS’ setting. Please see the Tip at the bottom of this Document: Enable Offline Access and Offline Edit for the Salesforce Mobile App.

Use Case: View a page that should show new info
FAQ: Why doesn’t this page show the newest data updates that I can see at desktop?

Use Case: Load a page that wasn’t used in a while
FAQ: If it’s been a while since I logged in, pages sometimes don’t load - why?

  • Sometimes, this is due to intentional settings by a Salesforce System Administrator to restrict data access to a specific timeframe. That timeframe can be based on when the mobile User logged in or last used the app. Please see: Manage Session Policies for a Connected App.
  • If the Session Policies are not set up to block access during the time this issue is seen:
    • Please see the FAQ above about Caching.
    • If the issue keeps happening and your company uses My Domain, please double check proper Log In steps:
      1. Please have the mobile User tap “Log Out”
      2. Note: Avoid the ‘Use Custom Domain' link on the app login page
      3. Instead, please follow the steps in Switch Login Server in Salesforce Mobile Apps and Login to Salesforce for iOS and Android apps (video)
      4. Note: For the exact spelling and format of the connection, the Salesforce System Administrator can check Setup’s “My Domain” page
