Publish to Salesforce Maps in Salesforce Maps Territory Planning

Udgivelsesdato: Oct 13, 2022
Beskrivelse
One method of publishing, or implementing, an alignment is to publish the territories to Salesforce Maps as Shape Layers and, optionally, Auto Assignment rules for updating record ownership or other user lookups. Publishing to Maps allows users to change the owner or other user lookup via Auto Assignment for any object that can be geocoded. Multi-country data sets can be published to Maps, provided the underlying containers are supported for publishing to Maps

Note:You can publish up to 100 rules per Auto Assignment plan. We do not recommend using more than 100 rules per Org. If publishing to shape layers from a legacy vintage data set you may see discrepancies between Salesforce Maps and Territory Planning.  Please see this reference document for more information

Publishing to Salesforce Maps

  1. Click Publish in the top right corner of your Territory Planning tab.
  2. Select Salesforce Maps.
  3. Choose a Publish Scope:
    1. Alignment: Publish the entire alignment
    2. Focus: Publish your currently open focus
  4. Choose a Publish Level to publish. This will publish the children of that focus as well.
  5. Choose a Publish Method:
    1. Publish as new Shape Layers: This will publish a new folder per level and Shape Layer per territory into the folder that you select below. This will also publish rules in the auto assignment plan you select below.
    2. Overwrite all Shape Layers: This will overwrite all folders and Shape Layers in the folder you select below. This will also overwrite all rules in the auto assignment plan you select below.
    3. Overwrite matching Shape Layers: This will overwrite any Shape Layers in the folder that you select below whose names match with the territories that you are publishing. This will also overwrite rules in the auto assignment plan you select below, but only those whose names match with the territories that you are publishing.
  6. Select the Folder where you would like to publish the alignment as shape layers. Each territory will be created as its own shape in Salesforce Maps. Note that you can only publish to folders inside your own Personal folder in Maps.
  7. Optionally, select Publish an auto assignment rule for each shape layer to create an auto assignment rule for every territory in your Publish Scope.

Note:

  • Publish to Salesforce Maps is not available for alignments that use certain Territory Boundaries or no Territory Boundaries.
  • Auto Assignment cannot be undone and should be verified in Sandbox first. It is recommended to Export All Data before running the first auto-assignment plan.
  • Shape Layers are ideal for cases with less than 100 territories per Org and fewer than 50,000 total records. Consider using Enterprise Territory Management if your organization has more territories or records.
  • All publish options can be subject to Alignment Approval. If you do not see the option to publish, please check with your company’s Salesforce Administrator to see if that option is enabled.
