This article covers recommended best-practice settings for automation within the Salesforce Authenticator mobile app, so trusted logins are approved automatically instead of requiring a manual tap each time.
This article answers the question: what settings should you configure so Salesforce Authenticator automation works reliably, and what should you check if automation still isn't performing well?
Background App Refresh is disabled in Low Power Mode. Forcing the app to close can also interfere with request automation.
Salesforce Org Admin side click path (Classic and Lightning): From Setup, enter "Identity Verification" in the Quick Find box, then select Identity Verification. Enable "Let Salesforce Authenticator automatically verify identities using geolocation."
If all settings are in place and app performance still hasn't improved, go into the app's Settings > About, then tap Send Feedback for review. This pulls details from the individual phone's settings and sends them to the product team for a performance review; they'll contact you if they need additional information.
If you disable Einstein Automation, your existing trusted locations remain in place. Einstein Automation is enabled by default on new downloads of Salesforce Authenticator, along with these device settings: on iOS, Location Services permission set to Always with Background App Refresh enabled; on Android, Location Services set to High Accuracy Mode.
