  3. To access the Maps Advanced Route Calendar, from the App Launcher, navigate to the Maps Advanced Route tab.

Note: If the Output object configured in the Maps Advanced Visit Plan is the standard Salesforce Event, once routes are generated for a user, they will also be displayed on their Salesforce Calendar.

Calendar Action Buttons

  1. There are three main actions that can be taken from the Maps Advanced Calendar. Buttons for these actions can be found at the upper right-hand corner of the calendar on desktop, or below the calendar on a mobile device.
  2. Working: This button allows the user to select the days they are available to work and for which they would like routes generated.
    1. To set a day as working that was previously set to not working, click the Working button, then select the day from the calendar.
    2. To set multiple days as working, click the Working button, then select a single day and drag your cursor over the additional days on the calendar.
  3. Not Working: This button allows the user to select the days they are NOT available to work and for which they would NOT like routes generated.
    1. To set a day as not working that was previously set to working, click the Not Working button, then select the day from the calendar.
    2. To set multiple days as not working, click the Not Working button, then select a single day and drag your cursor over the additional days on the calendar.
  4. Edit: The button allows the user to change the Start/End Locations for a single day or multiple days, change the Start/End Times for a single day or multiple days, and set planned travel days.

Set Planned Travel Days

  1. From the Maps Advanced Route Calendar, a user can choose to set consecutive days as planned travel. Planned Travel is typically used when a user is planning to stay at least one night away from their default starting and/or ending location and would like to plan visits from these temporary locations.
  2. To set Planned Travel days, click the Edit button, then click and drag over at least two days on the calendar to select them. A sidebar will appear to the right of the screen with each selected day represented.
  3. From the Start and End Location fields, enter an address for each value.
  4. Select the I’m Flexible checkbox if you are open to travel suggestions. By linking together multiple days using I’m Flexible, a continuous route is created and each day essentially starts with a location relative to where the previous day ended.
  5. From the Start and End Time fields, enter start and end times for each day, or leave them blank to use the default times.
  6. Click Save.

Planned Travel Examples

Example 1: During my two-day travel, I will be staying at a specific address. I would like Maps Advanced to design routes where I end my first day and start my second day at the address I provided.

  1. After selecting my planned travel days, I set the Start Location of the first day and the End Location of the last day to the address of my default location.
  2. Then, I set the End Location of the first day and the Start Location of the second day to the address of the hotel where I will be staying.
  3. I leave both I’m Flexible checkboxes unchecked and leave the Start and End Times to Use Default.
  4. I click Save to lock in my planned travel for two days.

Example 2: During my two-day travel, I don’t care where I stay. I would like Maps Advanced to design routes and choose the best area to end my first day and start my second day.

  1. After selecting my planned travel days, I set the Start Location of the first day and the End Location of the last day to the address of my default location.
  2. Then, I leave blank both the End Location of the first day and the Start Location of the second day.
  3. I check the I’m Flexible checkboxes for each day and leave the Start and End Times to Use Default.
  4. I click Save to lock in my planned travel for two days.
