Error “Field Values Were Null” on Nearby Maps

When adding a Nearby Map to a Salesforce Classic or Lightning page you can possibly encounter an error such as the one below stating “field values were null.” The error message will go on to list the fields. In this particular case, it appears the shipping longitude and shipping latitude fields are null.

You encountered some errors when trying to load your MiniMap.
maps.MiniMap.MiniMapException: One or more merge field values were null.
Fields: ShippingLatitude, ShippingLongitude (266)
 

Løsning
Prerequisites:
If your latitude and longitude fields are null, this simply means the record has not been geocoded. Records can be geocoded in a multitude of ways including: creating a marker layer and plotting the record in Salesforce Maps, configuring and running a batch automation job, or using the Map It button (if configured).
