Prerequisites:
This guide will explain the following actionable tabs and buttons of the Salesforce Maps Desktop user interface, and how they help users visualize important data and create plans to support their customers:
The tabs to the left of the Salesforce Maps navigation bar allow users to visualize their business-critical Salesforce data and plan the most efficient ways to support their customers. Available tabs include:
The Layers tab contains all of your organization's saved Salesforce Maps layers and empowers you to create new layers and gain a better understanding of where your most important customers are and where you need to be to support them. Salesforce Maps layer types and applications include:
For users planning travel with Salesforce Maps Routes: The Routes tab contains all saved Routes and empowers users to create new Routes to visit as many customers as quickly as possible.
For users planning travel with Salesforce Maps Schedule: The Schedule tab shows all planned Salesforce Events, plus their meeting and travel times, and empowers users to create new Events to fill gaps in their day.
After a user plots a marker layer, the List tab displays a List View of all visible markers. Users can use the List View to sort and filter markers based on key field criteria, take action on groups of markers, and export data from Salesforce Maps.
Use the buttons to the right of the Salesforce Maps navigation bar to allow changing your display settings for the map. Available buttons include:
Use the Drawing Tools to hand-draw boundaries on the map to select and analyze multiple markers at once, or to save as new shape layers. Available Drawing Tools include:
Use the Search bar to search for points of interest and plot them on the map alongside marker layers. Salesforce Maps's Search function retrieves and displays point-of-interest results from three sources: Google Places, records in marker layers, and records in Salesforce. For more information, please see Searching in Salesforce Maps.
Use the Settings menu to set or adjust your default settings for Salesforce Maps, including Routes and Schedule, and List View defaults. For more information, please see Salesforce Maps Settings.
