The Markers tab of the Salesforce Maps Marker Layer Builder allows users to assign colors or shapes to the markers that are created when a Marker Layer is plotted to the map. There are five marker assignment types to choose from and endless combinations of color and shape assignments.
Check out this quick video to learn how to display markers with different colors and shapes.
The video above shows 5 different ways to visualize markers on the map. You can find more details about each method below.
All markers will be the same color and shape when a user plots this marker layer on the map. Additionally, select a new color and shape for all markers.
Choose a field from your base object and dynamically assign colors and shapes to markers in the marker layer based on their value for that field. Use the Field dropdown menu to select a field. Depending on the field type selected, different marker assignment grid options will appear. For example:
Choose two fields from your base object and dynamically assign colors and shapes to markers in the marker layer based on their values for those fields. One selected field determines each marker's shape, and the other selected field determines each marker's color. The same field type assignment options are available for both Varied Based On 1 Field and Varied Based On 2 Fields marker layers.
Automatically display the value in the field selected as Title for this marker layer instead of a marker shape. Users can also assign static Text and Background colors for labels, or dynamically assign colors to labels based on a field from the base object. Select a field from the Color Field dropdown menu to configure dynamic label colors.
Select a field from the base object and automatically display a numeric order for all markers based on their value for that field. Select the sort order and you also have the option to draw a line between all markers in a layer.
