Missing fields in Related Record component

The Related Record component is a standard Lightning Page component linked to a quick action. It displays information on a related record and allows users to edit, create and associate other records. Some users might see a different set of fields compared to what a System Administrator sees on the Related Record component.

This is because the fields are being rendered using compact layout when the user viewing the related record has 'Read-only access' to the related record.

Grant users Create and Edit permissions on the related object to allow them to see the same set of fields that System Administrators do. The following steps will help do so:

Note: The steps below are applicable to custom profiles only.
  • From Setup, enter Profiles in the Quick Find box.
  • Select a Profile.
  • Follow either of the steps below depending on the interface you are using:
    • Enhanced Profile User Interface:
      • In the Find Settings box, enter the name of the object and select it from the list.
      • Click Edit and scroll to the Object Permissions section.
    • Original Profile User Interface:
      • Click Edit  then scroll to the Standard Object Permissions, Custom Object Permissions, or External Object Permissions section.
  • Provide Create and Edit permissions.
  • Click Save.
Most standard profiles already have Create and Edit permissions on a standard object, but if they do not, you may add a permission set instead. The steps provided above are also applicable in adding a permission set. After a permission set has been created, make sure to assign it to the affected user(s).
