Salesforce Maps: How to Configure Plot on Load for Marker and Shape Layers

This article explains how to configure Plot on Load in Salesforce Maps, either for a single layer or for a group of layers tied to a permission set.

Set Plot on Load for an Individual Layer

1. While viewing layers from the Recent or Saved tab, navigate to the marker layer you wish to plot on load. (Layers listed under the On The Map tab don't have the same menu options.)
2. Hover over the three vertical dots next to the marker layer to view the options.
3. Select Toggle Plot on Load to enable or disable the plot on load feature for a particular layer.

Set Plot on Load for a Group of Layers by Permission Set

You can also set layers to plot on load for a group of layers assigned to the same permission group.

1. Navigate to Setup.
2. Search "Installed packages" in the Quick Find box.
3. Click "Configure" beside Salesforce Maps.
4. Click on "Permission Group" from the left menu and select the required permission group.
5. Click the pencil icon beside "Plot on Load Layers" under the Layers section and add the required layers that need to be plotted on load.

Limitations

1. Your layer icon changes to indicate it plots on load. You can select many different layers to plot on load, and you'll see a list of layers currently set to plot on load under the Recent tab.
2. Plot on load does not work with Data Layers.
