1. Select the Layers tab, then click on the On The Map tab.
2. Hover over the three vertical dots to the right of On The Map and select Add Boundary.
3. Change the Type to KML and select the file.
4. Click the Apply Changes button and your KML file will appear on the map.
5. Click the Save button to save your new KML layer as a shape layer. You will be presented with a popup window to create a custom shape layer, enter a Name for the new layer, select a folder, and Save.
Note: In order to plot the KML file inside Maps, a user must have access to Visualforce page maps.XMLDocumentAJAXResources.So, if they cannot plot it, please follow these steps to give them the access to the required VF page-
1. Click on the user's profile.
2. Click on Visualforce page access.
3. Click edit.
4. Select maps.XMLDocumentAJAXResources
5. Click Save.
