You may notice your web map or layer does not plot as quickly as it does with ArcGIS Desktop. There are several reasons for this. Moreover, there are steps you can take to improve how your maps plot.

Best Practices for Plotting ArcGIS Maps

ArcGIS maps can have a lot of data. Rendering large data sets within a Browser interface can cause reductions in speed and performance. Salesforce Maps anticipates this behavior and plots ArcGIS maps within the visible area only. However, there can still be too much data for the Connector to work smoothly. To that end there are some Best Practices you can observe for plotting:
  • Reduce the number (and size) of the layers you plot. The Salesforce Maps Connector for ArcGIS works best with a few small data sets.
  • Reduce or eliminate the use of additional base maps in your layers.
  • Try to only use the Salesforce Maps Connector for ArcGIS in a single browser window (if possible).
