Build Salesforce Maps Marker Layer with Filter by Activity

게시 일자: May 28, 2026
상세 설명
Salesforce Maps allows you to filter Marker Layers by Activities. This means you can plot only those records, such as Accounts, that have a Task or an Event associated with them. You can further refine the filters on those Activities themselves.

Filtering By Activity

When plotting a Marker Layer, you may find it necessary to only plot those records with an associated Activity.

The following video demonstrates how to navigate to Marker Layer settings, select the Activity Filters tab, and configure Task and Event criteria to filter plotted records.

1. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the Marker Layer. Select New.

2. Select the object to use for the Marker Layer. This example uses Accounts.

3. Name your Marker Layer and select Activity Filters under the Filters tab.

4. The default settings show configuration options for both Tasks and Events. When you select the option With Tasks or Without Tasks, you can then make selections based on criteria on the Activities themselves. For example: Show me Accounts with a Task due on 1/13/2020.

5. You can also use the AND or OR condition in the middle to show Accounts with particular Tasks and/or Events. For example: Show me Accounts with a Task due on 1/13/2020 AND Show me Accounts with an Event due on 1/13/2020.

6. Select Save & Plot to plot the layer.

Note: SF Maps will create a query of the first 150K records (from the base object) and then pass those record id's to a secondary query to introduce defined activity filter criteria.  If you are using activity filters be sure to filter down the base object (say Account Billing) to under 150K results prior to adding in activity filter logic. Failing to do so, may result in inconsistent results if the user has access to more than 150K records (Accounts in the example of using the Account Billing base object).
