Plot Marker Layers in Salesforce Maps

1. Open Salesforce Maps, and select the Layers tab from the main navigation bar.
2. Select the Recent tab to see a list of recently-plotted layers, or the Saved tab to see all saved layers.
3. From the Saved tab, select either your Personal folder or your organization's shared Corporate folder:
   • Personal Folder: A user's Personal folder contains private layers visible only to that Salesforce Maps user.
   • Corporate Folder: The organization's Corporate folder contains shared layers visible to multiple Salesforce Maps users within the organization.
   • Both your Personal and Corporate folder may have subfolders to organize and group layers with similar business applications (e.g. role, team, territory) together.
4. Click a marker layer to plot it on the map. Click the marker layer name to plot all of its marker results on the map, or      hover over the three vertical dots in line with the marker layer name to select a different plotting mode for the marker  layer.

• Plot: Choose an available marker mode to plot and visualize your layer. For more information about available marker modes, please see the following article: Using Different Marker Modes .
• Plot Visible Area: Plots only markers in the current visible area of the map. This is a best practice if you have a larger data set but only need to see a subset within a geographic area. Choosing this option also skips any records that are not geocoded.
• Toggle Plot on Load: Enables or disables Plot on Load for a layer. With Plot on Load enabled, a layer plots automatically each time a user launches Salesforce Maps.

Seeing Data for a Single Marker

After plotting a marker layer on the map, view important data for each underlying Salesforce record.

1. Plot a marker layer, and review the legend in the On the Map tab.
2. Click the legend checkboxes to hide or show different marker categories from view. Hiding a marker category does not remove its results from the marker layer. Instead, it hides them from view so you can focus on more important records.
3. Click any marker on the map to display a tooltip window with information related to that marker:

• Info: Display Salesforce field values for this marker's underlying Salesforce record. Salesforce Maps users may choose up to 15 fields to add as tooltips for a marker layer. For more information on selecting tooltip fields, please see Marker Layer Building: Tooltips .
• Actions: Display a list of action buttons that are part of your assigned Button Set. For more information on selecting action buttons, please see Creating or Editing Button Sets .
• Chatter: Display the Chatter feed for this record. Users may also post to Chatter or leverage existing Chatter Actions from Salesforce Maps.
• Related Lists: Display a list of records related to this marker's underlying Salesforce record. For more information on configuring Related Lists, please see Marker Layer Building: Related Lists .

Seeing Data for Multiple Markers

In addition to viewing important information about individual markers, users may view aggregated data for groups of markers to understand data trends or compare multiple marker groups.

1. After plotting a marker layer, select a drawing tool from the Salesforce Maps navigation bar and draw a shape around a group of markers. 
   • Note: These steps describe how to aggregate data with hand-drawn shapes, but any saved shape layers provide the same aggregation capabilities.
2. Left click inside the shape you drew to display a tooltip window with information about all markers inside the shape.

• Aggregates: Displays the Sum and Average of all number and currency field tooltips selected for this marker layer.
• Legend: Displays a marker legend similar to the On the Map tab legend, but with results limited to the markers inside the shape.
• Markers: Displays a list of markers inside the shape with hyperlinks to each underlying Salesforce record.
