Some users are unable to see the Activity tab on a Lightning record page for any object, even when their profile grants Read access to Activity records. This typically occurs for users who have not yet updated their personal Default Activities View setting in their user preferences.
The Activity Timeline in Salesforce Lightning Experience displays tasks, events, emails, and calls associated with a record. It is available on the following standard objects: Accounts, Cases, Claims, Contacts, Contracts, Insurance Policies, Leads, Opportunities, and activity-enabled custom objects.
Note: The Activity Timeline is available in Lightning Experience only.
This article explains how to resolve the issue where the Activity tab does not appear on a Lightning record page by updating the user's Default Activities View setting.
Steps to Restore the Activity Timeline
If the record page still does not display the Activity Timeline after following these steps, contact your Salesforce administrator to confirm that the Lightning record page has been customized to include the Activity Timeline component.
