Salesforce Activity Tab Not Available on Lightning Record Page For Some Users

Description

 Some users are not able to see the Activity tab in a Lightning record page in any object, even if they have Read access on Activity in their Profiles.  This happens to users who haven't changed their Record Page settings yet.

The Activity Timeline supports Accounts, Cases, Claims, Contacts, Contracts, Insurance Policies, Leads, Opportunities, and activity-enabled custom objects.

Resolution

You need to check if the Activity Timeline is set up as the affected user's Default Activities View.

Note: Available in Lightning Experience only

  1. Click on your avatar or picture to View Profile.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Under Display & Layout, click Record Page Settings.
  4. Select Activity Timeline as your Default Activities View.

If your record page doesn't show the view you select, refresh the page. If the problem continues, contact your admin to ensure they have customized the page to show your selected view.
