Salesforce Login Failure Occurs and No Login Failure Shows for the Login History of the User

Veröffentlichungsdatum: Jun 14, 2026
Beschreibung

A Salesforce user experiences a login failure even when entering the correct username and password. The failed login attempt does not appear in the user's Login History.

This behavior is typically caused by hidden special characters appended to the username — often introduced by copy-pasting from an external source in the Google Chrome browser.

Lösung

When no record of the login failure is added to the user's Login History, this indicates that there is a special character or characters added to the username.

An administrator can confirm this by opening the user record detail page in Google Chrome. From here, they can right click on their mouse and select the option to inspect the element. If characters other than the username are visible in the selector, you will need to update username to exclude the characters and then save the user record again.

Tip: When setting or changing a username, always type it manually rather than pasting from an external source to prevent hidden characters from being introduced.
