In Salesforce Lightning Experience, users may notice that the Activity Timeline component is missing from record pages even when the standard Activities Component has been added to the Lightning Page Layout. This issue can be isolated to specific users or affect all users, depending on the root cause.
Users may report they do not see the Activity Timeline when viewing records despite the standard Activities Component being applied to the record's Lightning Page Layout.
In addition, other Users with the same Profile are able to see the Activity Timeline when viewing the same records.
For issues affecting only specific users: Check whether the affected user has personalized their Record Activities View Settings to display 'Related Lists' instead of 'Activity Timeline'. This setting can be changed by going to the record, clicking the gear icon, and selecting 'Activity Timeline' as the default view.
Note: Changing the above settings may take a bit of time to propagate and require the User to refresh the affected record several times.
