This issue occurs while logging an email from the Gmail/Outlook Integration because its not able to find the default record type. Also check if you are to able send an email from Salesforce or not. If there is an error while sending an email from Salesforce (Unable to find the default record type) then follow the below steps.


Issue: When customer is clicking the "Log Email" button in Outlook or Gmail, they get an error saying "An error occurred while trying to update the record. Please try again. The transaction was rolled back since another operation in the same transaction failed., bad value for restricted picklist field: Choose Service, bad value for restricted picklist field: Choose Service Confirm to retry. "

Possible Root Cause(s)
The user profile may have one of the following configured:
 
- User does not have edit access to WhoId or WhatId fields of the related object (entity) 
- Page layout for related record does not include WhoId and WhatId fields
- Page layout for related record does not have read-only setting for WhoId and WhatId field

Your Salesforce administrator can help with enabling these permissions. Also you can set access to the Task record type from your Personal settings


1. Go to Personal settings.
2. Click on the Advanced User Detail page.
3. Click on Profile.
4. Search for Record Type.
5. Click on Edit on Task object under Standard Object Layout settings.
6. Selected any record type under Default Record type.
7. Click on save.
