In an Experience Cloud site, Embedded Service Chat messages appear multiple times in the agent or visitor widget. This issue is caused by having more than one instance of the Embedded Service Chat component on the same page.

How to Resolve: Remove Duplicate Embedded Service Chat Components in Experience Builder

The Embedded Service Chat component should only appear once on a page. Adding it to multiple page variations or to both the page body and the site template footer will cause messages to appear multiple times in the chat widget.
To resolve this issue in Experience Builder:
  • Ensure there is no more than one instance of the Embedded Service Chat widget on the page.
  • Review all variations of the page and make sure there is only one instance across all page variations.
The Embedded Service Chat component should be located on the Experience Site template footer only — not added again to individual pages.
