Different Case Chatter Features for Console vs. Non-Console-Based Lightning Apps

Date de publication: Mar 20, 2023
Description

Winter '19 introduced the Case Feed Everywhere feature in Lightning Experience.

This change allowed the standard Lightning Chatter Component to leverage compact feeds for the Case and Social Post objects in Lightning Experience applications.

The Winter '20 enhancement, Respond to Customers Faster with Social Quick Action for Leads made the compact feed for feed-based layouts in Lightning available for the Lead object as well.

With these changes it's expected for the compact feed in feed-based layouts in Lightning Experience to:

  • No longer show the thumbs up icon to 'Like' on Chatter posts directly.

Note: Chatter posts in feeds for the Lead, Case, and Social Post object records with feed-based layouts will instead show an arrow and drop down menu on the top right of posts where users can select to 'Like on Chatter' from the available menu options or actions.

If orgs would like the change Case Chatter feature behavior in console or non-console based Lightning Apps, system administrators may log a case with Salesforce Support to request enabling or disabling compact feed for feed-based layouts in Lightning.

Please ask Support to reference the internal information section of this Knowledge Article # 000352121 and carefully review, acknowledge, and provide the following details to help expedite your case request:

1. Determine whether you would like to disable compact layouts for either or both of the following types of Lightning Apps:

2. Provide Org Ids and explicit permission for Support to enable either or both of the following org features:

Note: It's recommended to test in sandbox. Please provide a designated sandbox org Id and plan to have users verify the change and any potential impact in sandbox before requesting in Production.

  • "Replace service cloud compact feed component with chatter feed component in console navigation lightning apps" to enable compact layouts in Lightning Console apps.

  • "Replace chatter feed component with service cloud compact feed component in non-console navigation lightning apps" to enable compact layouts in non-console Lightning apps.

3. Review and acknowledge the following:

  • Enabling the above org feature(s) will no longer allow users to leverage compact feeds for feed-based layouts on the Lead, Case, or Social Post objects in corresponding Lightning Apps. The features may only be enabled for all three objects, and it's not possible to selectively enable or disable compact feeds for specific objects.

  • Enabling the features may result in selected 'Feed Filter Options' in feed-based page layout's 'Feed View' Settings to no longer being available in record Chatter feeds.

  • Administrators are encouraged to test the change in a sandbox before enabling in production. Carefully review each object's feed-based page layouts in Lightning Apps with users in sandbox and compare against production to verify the change does not adversely affect the way users interact with record feeds in Lightning apps.
