CRM Analytics Internal Server Error or Timeout Enabling Data Sync

For some highly complex organizations, especially those with numerous managed packages installed, attempting to enable Data Sync for CRM Analytics may result in an Internal Server Error or a time out. When this occurs, the feature will not be enabled.

Risoluzione

When enabling Data Sync for CRM Analytics and getting an Internal Server Error, in most situations, this can be resolved by backing up all data flows, blanking them out, and then restoring them after Data Sync has been successfully enabled. Perform the following steps:

 

  1. Navigate to Analytics Studio and the Data Manager
  2. In the Data Manager, click on the Manage Dataflows on the bottom left panel
  3. Click on Dataflows & Recipes
  4. For each data flow listed, click on the dropdown menu and then click Download. Ensure that these files are stored somewhere they will not be lost
  5. Create a new blank .json file that contains only the following two characters:
    {}
  6. In the Data Manager, click on the drop-down for each dataflow and then click Upload
  7. Choose the file created in step 4, then click Upload
  8. Once all dataflows have been blanked out in this manner, navigate to Setup
  9. Search for "Analytics" and click on Settings
  10. Check the box for "Enable Data Sync and Connections" and click Save
  11. Once Data Sync has been enabled without errors, navigate back to the Data Manager
  12. Click on Dataflows & Recipes
  13. For each dataflow listed, click on the dropdown and then click Upload
  14. Choose the appropriate backed-up file you saved in step 3, then click Upload
  15. Repeat steps 12 & 13 until all dataflows have been restored to their original contents


Note: Existing Dashboards & datasets will not be affected during this process.
