Sync Contacts from Gmail to Salesforce via Einstein Activity Capture

Дата публикации: May 1, 2026
Описание

This article explains why Gmail Contacts are not syncing to Salesforce via Einstein Activity Capture (EAC) and how to resolve the issue by applying the Salesforce Sync label in Gmail or Google Contacts. Einstein Activity Capture is a Salesforce feature that automatically captures email and calendar activity and syncs Contacts between Gmail (Google Contacts) and Salesforce.
Contacts that are not labeled as Salesforce Sync in Gmail are not synced by EAC. This is expected behavior — only Contacts tagged with the Salesforce Sync label are eligible for sync.

Решение

Apply the Salesforce Sync Label to Gmail Contacts

This behavior is working as designed. When EAC setup is completed, Salesforce automatically creates a Salesforce Sync label in Gmail. Only Contacts associated with this label are synced to Salesforce. To sync a Contact, apply the Salesforce Sync label in Gmail or Google Contacts using the steps below.

  1. Click on a Contact in Gmail or Google Contacts.
  2. Click on the pencil icon to manage labels.
  3. Select the Salesforce Sync label to flag the Contact for sync.

Notes

  • Allow EAC to detect the new settings for the Contact. Check the sync progress after a few minutes. You may also search for the email address in Salesforce to confirm it is now available.
  • Salesforce Starter Edition does not require Contacts to be labeled as Salesforce Sync. With this edition, all Contacts from the user's root Google Contacts folder are synced automatically.
