Salesforce retired the Legacy Pardot Email Plugins with the Winter 21 (October 2020) release. Since your organization currently uses that capability, we wanted to tell you how this impacts you and what your options are. Alternatives can be considered, but these will be at an additional cost.
Salesforce has focused on an actively developed and maintained replacement, which led us to the decision to retire this.
What changed?
After Winter ’21, you are no longer able to access or use Pardot’s Legacy email plugins. You no longer have access to the legacy application download page to be able to download any of the Pardot Legacy email plugins, be able to login to any legacy Pardot email plugin, or use any feature in an existing Pardot legacy email plugin installation.
The following plugins will no longer be available after the retirement date:
What did you recommend?
We know that retiring a capability you’ve been using can be disruptive. To help guide you through this transition, here are a few alternatives to consider:
Pardot Outlook 2013 Add-in has a replacement available in the form of Engage for Outlook, which comes at an additional cost and some feature differences:
Engage for Outlook captures Prospect data
Engage for Outlook does not provide link tracking as the plugin did
Pardot Gmail Extension for Chrome has a replacement available in the form of Engage for Gmail, which requires an additional cost and some feature differences:
Engage for Gmail provides link tracking as the plugin did
Engage for Gmail captures Prospect data as the plugin did
Other legacy email plugins do not have a replacement available
