Fecha de publicación: Jan 28, 2025
Descripción
An error may be returned when uploading an unsupported SSH key into Marketing Cloud Setup's Key Management page. Only OpenSSH-generated keys are supported. Other formats (e.g. PuTTY) may produce the following error upon saving:

'Object reference not set to an instance of an object'
Solución
To resolve the error, generate a new key using OpenSSH, or convert an existing key to OpenSSH's RFC4253 format.

To convert a PuTTY generated key into OpenSSH RFC4253 format (from the PuTTY Key Generator console):

  1. Open PuTTY Key Generator > https://www.puttygen.com/
  2. Under the menu "Key", Select "SSH-2 RSA"
  3. In the main screen at the lower right, enter Number of bits in a generated key: 2048
  4. Click Generate
  5. After the key has been generated, Click "Conversions" from the top menu bar > Select "Export OpenSSH Key"
  6. Save this as .ppk format. This will be the private key.
  7. Then Save for public key by clicking at "Save public key" with pub format.

Refer to this article for additional steps in setting up a Public Key for the first time.

Marketing Cloud requires that the private key be in OpenSSH format. When generating key pairs, utilize the following parameters:
  • Implementation: OpenSSH
  • Protocol: SSH-2
  • Algorithm: RSA
  • Bits: 2048 (other strengths may be supported, but are untested and may be less secure)
