User can't view List Emails sent from a Record - A Task Record opens instead

Users click on a List Email Record and instead of the Email, a Task Record opens instead.

 

Scenario:

For example, a sales rep clicks on a List Email record from a contact's activity feed and lands on a Task record instead of the email itself.

Løsning

To resolve this issue, go to:

Enable Permission via Profile

  1. Click the Gear Icon
  2. Select Setup
  3. Navigate to Users
  4. Click Profiles
  5. Select the affected Profile
  6. Open System Permissions
  7. Enable "Allow Sending of List Emails"

The user should now be able to see the actual Email Record, rather than Task.

This can also be done using the same steps as above with a Permission Set to narrow down the Users with access to this permission.

Enable Permission via Permission Set (Recommended)

  1. Click the Gear Icon
  2. Select Setup
  3. Navigate to Users
  4. Click Permission Sets
  5. Select an existing Permission Set or create a new one
  6. Open System Permissions
  7. Enable "Allow Sending of List Emails"
  8. Assign the Permission Set to the appropriate users


Note: Administrators should also make sure that the Sharing Settings for List Emails are set to a minimum of Public Read Only rather than Private.
