Digital Engagement SMS Messaging Reference: Carrier Filtering

公開日: Oct 13, 2022
説明

What is Carrier Filtering?

Carrier filtering is a practice where carriers block the delivery of some or all of the messaging coming from a specific number or business.  To provide the best messaging solution for your customers, you must understand how and when carrier filtering occurs.  Please see our documentation on Carrier Filtering that cover the following topics:

  1. Why is filtering used?
  2. How are messages filtered?
  3. What are some best practices to protect against filtering?
  4. What if my messages were incorrectly blocked or filtered?
  5. Verify that messages aren't blocked by each of the major carriers.

Filtering reduces the potential for dissatisfied customers who may as a result, file complaints, take legal action, seek damages, or just switch to another carrier for loss of business.  Filtering is in the best interest of the carrier and the subscriber; allowing for both the protection of the subscribers and the carrier’s revenue, while mitigating costs.

For insights to familiarize yourself with country rules and regulations, please reference Messaging  Regulations by Country.  As regulations change dynamically, to ensure a thorough understanding of compliance requirements, we recommend a legal review of the regulatory bodies that govern the telecommunications systems in the country or territory where you plan to do business.
