Please Note:

Our phone number supplier requires that we collect certain bits of information from you, regarding your brand and use case, before the provisioning of your requested number(s) can be completed. Please use the attached PDF form to provide this required information.

Messaging considerations will differ by geography and carrier, and need to be considered for where you are to utilize business messaging.  Following are some highlights specific to this country.

There are different carrier regulations based on number type (Short Code, A2P Long Code).

Considerations and Best Practices:

  • Consent – Outbound messaging should only occur with prior opt-in consent from each message recipient (account owner)
  • Keywords – Messaging for keywords HELP (support) and STOP (opt-out/unsubscribe) at low or no cost, and in recipients’ local language
  • Hours – Commercial SMS messages sent during a recipients’ daytime hours unless urgent, with complete blocking during specific times.
  • Registries – Should not be contacted if they are on the do-not-call or do-not-disturb registries

Ordering / Pre-Registration and Other Information

  • A2P Long Codes
    • Message Type/Ratios – Campaigns are not allowed on A2P Long Code, and there is an expectation of MO.  Lack of at least one (1) MO may result in suspended messaging.
    • Pre-Registration – The following information is required before an order can be placed:  Company information, company postal address, service/use case description and sample content
  • Short Codes
    • Hours – Some carriers will/may block marketing SMS traffic any nights after 10 PM (up to 8am) local time, Sundays, and on public/bank holidays.
    • Pre-Registration – The following information is required before an order can be placed:  Service name (15 characters max), specify whether use case is marketing or transactional and a short service/use case description (e.g. 2FA)

Salesforce recommends that customers familiarize themselves with the legislation of the target market to ensure compliance with all applicable laws.

The legal regulatory body governing telecommunication systems in this country may fall under Autorité de Régulation des Communications Électroniques et des Postes (ARCEP), Act N°78-17 OF 6 January 1978 on Information Technology, Data Files and Civil Liberties (and CNiL website), The French Posts and Electronic Communications Code, Article 21 EU General Data Protection Regulation and Law No. 2004-575, For Confidence in the Digital Economy.  Failure to comply may result in actions taken by the governing body (e.g. warnings, fines and account suspension).
