Transferring a Short Code to a another carrier

Current LiveMessage or Messaging (Digital Engagement) customers looking to transfer an existing short code, procured from HeyWire or Salesforce (SFDC), to a new SMS vendor, will need to perform a few steps before the transfer can be completed.
 
  1. The customer must submit a formal request to shortcodeenablement@salesforce.com with the items listed below:
  • The short code to be transferred.
  • The SMS vendor that will be receiving the transferred short code (assuming the ownership from SFDC).
  • The receiving vendor's account number with US Short Code Registry (usshortcodes.com).
  • The SFDC Org ID where the short code is currently provisioned.
  1. Once SDFC initiates the requested transfer, the customer point of contact (POC) will be alerted that the transfer is in progress.
  2. The POC will need to contact the receiving SMS vendor to alert them that the transfer is pending and that they need to log in to the usshortcodes.com portal and accept the transferred short code.
  3. Once the short code has been accepted by the new SMS vendor and the customer's campaign has been submitted to their aggregator for approval, the customer POC must send an update to shortcodeenablement@salesforce.com, so that SFDC can de-provision the short code from the platform, which will ensure that SMS traffic is routed to the correct destination.
