Make Experience Cloud Site User Email Addresses Visible to External or Guest Users

To make an Experience Cloud site user's email address visible to external users or guest users, a system administrator must update two User preference fields using the Salesforce API or Data Loader:

  • UserPreferencesShowEmailToExternalUsers — controls whether the email is visible to other authenticated external users. Default: false.
  • UserPreferencesShowEmailToGuestUsers — controls whether the email is visible to guest (unauthenticated) users. Default: false.

Setting both fields to true for the relevant user records makes their email addresses visible. This must be done via the API or Data Loader — there is no standard UI setting for these fields.

Lösning


1. Prepare a csv file with the following columns:

  • User ID - Salesforce ID of the experience cloud site user that needs the email to be visible to external or guest users.
  • UserPreferencesShowEmailToExternalUsers - value should be True (default value is false).
  • UserPreferencesShowEmailToGuestUsers - value should be True (default value is false).
 

2. Perform an update using Data Loader:

  1. Open Data Loader and click Update.
  2. Login with your credentials.
  3. Select User object.
  4. Browse for the .csv file that you created.
  5. Map the 3 fields in your import file.
  6. Click Finish.
