When you enable the Skip Weekends setting in High Velocity Sales (HVS) Sales Cadence Setup, only task assignments to sales representatives are skipped on Saturdays and Sundays — automated email execution still occurs on weekends. Sales Cadences assign Tasks to representatives on weekdays only. Calls, emails, and custom steps skip Saturdays and Sundays to be assigned the following Monday. This behavior leads customers to expect that automated emails sent as part of a Sales Cadence will also be skipped on weekends.
This behavior is working as designed. The Skip Weekends setting controls when tasks are assigned to reps — it does not control when automated email steps are executed. Specifically:
As confirmed in the Spring '20 Release Notes — Give Reps the Weekend Off from Sales Cadences:
"Sales managers can let their teams enjoy the weekend. When you turn on the Skip Weekends setting, sales cadences assign tasks to reps on weekdays only. Calls, emails, and custom steps skip Saturdays and Sundays to be assigned the following Monday."
The in-product Setup description reads:
"Assign sales cadence tasks to reps on weekdays only. Calls, emails, and custom steps aren't assigned on Saturday or Sunday. These tasks are assigned the following Monday."
Note: Both descriptions refer to the assignment of tasks, not the execution of Sales Cadence steps such as automated emails.
