Update content in a Triggered Send without Pausing, Publishing and Restarting the Triggered Send

When working with Triggered Sends, each time you Start/Restart a Triggered Send, a Job is created behind the Triggered Send to allow you to continually send the Email.

In some instances, the Content of the Email can be dynamic in nature meaning that different Content Blocks may be displayed for different Subscribers.

The Marketing Cloud creates a snapshot of the Content Area the first time it is rendered by the Triggered Send, and that snapshot will be used to render the content until a new Job is created (Pause, Publish, Restart).
解決策
To have the Triggered Send render brand new (updated) Content in the Email, you will need to ensure that the Content Block that is rendered in the Email is brand new and the Triggered Send has never been rendered before.

Below is an example of how this would potentially look, IF/ELSE statements have been used.

  • Day 1 - The Triggered Send is created and started
  • Day 1 - The first call is made with an Attribute of Colour = Red
    • The Triggered Send Job has now snapshotted the Content Block for Red
      • At this moment, only one Content Block 
  • Day 2 - A second call is made, this time with an Attribute of Colour = Blue
    • The Triggered Send Job has now snapshotted the Content Block for Blue
      • At this moment, the Job now has two snapshots of Red & Blue
  • Day 3 - A change has been made to the Yellow Content Block
  • Day 4 - A third call is made, this time with an Attribute of Colour = Yellow
    • The Triggered Send Job has now snapshotted the Content Block for Yellow
      • At this moment, the Job now has three snapshots of Red, Blue & Yellow
  • Day 5 - A change is made to the Red Content Block
  • Day 6 - A fourth call is made, this time with the Colour = Red as on Day 1
    • The Email received on Day 6 will have the same Content as Day 1
From the above scenario, because the Yellow Content Block had never been rendered by the Triggered Send, it had not been snapshotted by the Triggered Send and the change was rendered as expected.  Whereas Content Block Red remained as it was on Day 1 when Content Block Red was first created as a snapshot.
