New Button Missing on Campaigns Object in Salesforce

Description

The "New" button is missing on the Campaign object, preventing users from creating new Campaigns. This issue occurs when the Marketing User permission is not enabled on the affected user's record, or when the "New" button has been removed from the Campaign Search Layout.

Root Cause

The "New" button on Campaigns requires the Marketing User checkbox to be enabled on the User record. Additionally, the "New" button must be present in the Campaign Search Layout configuration.

Step 1: Enable the Marketing User Permission

Administrators must enable the Marketing User permission on the affected user's record.

  1. Navigate to the User detail page from Setup:
    1. In Salesforce Classic: Setup > Manage Users > Users
    2. In Lightning Experience: Setup > Users > Users
  2. Locate the affected user and click Edit.
  3. Select the Marketing User checkbox.
  4. Click Save.

Note: After enabling the Marketing User permission, verify that the user's Profile or Permission Set has the Create permission enabled for the Campaign object.

Step 2: Verify the Campaign Search Layout

The New button can be hidden in the Campaign Search Layouts. To ensure the New button appears in the Campaign list view:

  • Classic: Setup > Customize > Campaigns > Search Layouts > Campaigns List View
  • Lightning: Setup (Gear Icon) > Object Manager > Campaign > Search Layouts for Salesforce Classic > List View

Ensure the "New" button is listed under the buttons displayed in the layout.
