Authorizing Remote Sites During Salesforce Maps Installation

This article explains which remote sites Salesforce Maps requires authorization for, and how to authorize them during or after installation.

Authorizing Remote Sites During Installation

When you first install the Salesforce Maps Package, you will be prompted to enable the Remote Sites. Follow the steps below for the initial installation.

1. During installation, when prompted, review the list of remote sites.
2. Select Authorize for each site listed.

Authorizing Remote Sites After Installation

If the installation is already complete and you need to authorize sites manually, navigate to Setup, enter Remote Site Settings in the Quick Find box, locate the remote sites listed below, and enable them.

Maps Remote Sites

• WeatherAPI authorization is a call to their service that provides the weather overlays.
• AerisAPI authorization is a call to their service that provides weather tooltip information. Remote Site Endpoint: https://api.aerisapi.com
• GoogleMapsAPI authorization is a call to their service for Maps and Places search.
• EsriAPI authorization is a call to their service for plotting ArcGIS layers.
• HereAPI_Autosuggest, HereAPI_Isoline, HereAPI_Lookup, HereAPI_ReverseGeocode is a call to their service for Maps and Places search.
• SFMapsAPI, SFMapsAPI_Europe, or SFMapsAPI_NorthAmerica is a Salesforce API that hosts various services including thematic mapping computations, shape boundary data, public data sets, and tiles/images. These APIs are separated by region.
