This is a common sync error that can appear in Account Engagement.

: Unknown INVALID_FIELD: MasterRecordId from Contact where Email IN ('example@example.com' ^ ERROR at Row:1:Column:### field 'Email' can not be filtered in a query call

The error appears if Shield Platform Encryption is enabled in Salesforce, and the standard lead or contact email field is encrypted. Enabling this setting causes sync to stop working.
Ratkaisu
Disable Shield Platform Encryption for the email field on the lead and/or contact object.
